Check Butte County Arrests
Butte County publishes no same-day arrest roster. No city or state source fills the gap either. The Idaho Sheriffs' Association jail directory even lists "Website: None" for Butte County Jail. That confirms a missing website, not a booking database. Without an official 24-hour URL, update schedule, or photo policy, anything more detailed would simply be invented.
For same-day arrest checks, start with Arrests Last 24 Hours. For older bookings, turn to the Police Blotter. These workflows stay separate. A current-custody question and a historical booking-record request demand different methods. One thing a blank search never proves: that no arrest happened.
Butte County Jail Roster Status
The Butte County Sheriff's Office runs the county jail. Sheriff and Jail Administrator Dave Hansen leads the office. His published contact details are phone 208-527-8553, email dhansen@buttecountyid.us, and P.O. Box 130, Arco, ID 83213. The Idaho Sheriffs' Association lists the jail's rated capacity at eight beds. Public sources give the sheriff's administrative address as 256 W. Grand Ave. in Arco. No separate jail-housing street address is published. Don't substitute one.
That capacity figure is a rating, not a head count. It also says nothing about whether an arrested person is still in custody, since booking, release, transfer, and court placement can land on different days. Idaho jail standards separate detention from holding facilities, but that label doesn't fix how long anyone stays.

The official county contacts page routes most local requests. County administrative hours run Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., plus Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sheriff and jail counter hours may differ. Call before you drive to Arco.
Butte County Booking Records
Idaho Code §20-601 requires booking when a person lands in a county jail. Photographs and fingerprints are part of that process. Booking builds a record. It never requires publishing anything online. A Butte County booking record can carry the booked name, booking or agency number, arresting agency, intake time, charge description, bond or hold data, release details, and a photo. Ask the custodian which fields exist locally.
Read each field within its limits. A booking time marks intake, not the moment of the incident. A charge listed at intake can differ from what the prosecutor files. A bond figure doesn't prove bond was posted. A release entry doesn't always mean full freedom. Transfer, IDOC placement, federal detention, probation, or parole may follow next.
A strong request names the person, approximate booking date, arresting agency if known, and every record sought. Ask for each item separately. Request the booking sheet, charge data, release record, and photo on their own lines rather than assuming "arrest report" covers all four. The sheriff holds BCSO arrest and booking material. Another arresting agency may keep the incident report.
Butte County Arrest Photos
Butte County offers no official booking-photo gallery. No roster page displays thumbnails either. The law requires a photograph at booking. Nothing requires posting it online. To seek a specific photo, file the official county request form, identifying the custodian, person, event, date range, and the photograph you want, then asking about fees and redactions.
News images may be agency-supplied. They can also trace to just one incident. Third-party photos can be copied, mislabeled, stale, or detached from any outcome. Juvenile, sealed, investigatory, and other protected material may be off limits. The Mugshots.com Butte County page is unofficial and carries no BCSO authority.

That Mugshots.com page is not a live BCSO roster. Any count shown is a snapshot, and every name, custody claim, and outcome still needs official confirmation.
Request Butte County Arrest Records
The county clerk page links the official request form. The form asks you to name the custodian, describe the records, choose examination or copies, and acknowledge possible costs. Start with BCSO for sheriff arrest and jail records. The office sits at 256 W. Grand Ave., Arco, ID 83213; mail goes to P.O. Box 130. Email dhansen@buttecountyid.us or call (208) 527-8553 ext. 0.
- Identify the person and a narrow date range without publishing unnecessary personal information.
- Name the location and arresting agency if known.
- List the desired record types: incident report, booking sheet, charge information, release record, or booking photograph.
- State whether inspection or copies are requested and ask for an estimate before processing.
- If material is withheld, ask whether a redacted portion can be provided and what legal basis applies.
Idaho's public records law leans toward openness. It carves out exceptions for juveniles, sealed files, active investigations, and safety-sensitive material. Butte County publishes no jail-record fee schedule. It posts no set turnaround, photograph-release rule, or retention timetable. Those details have to come straight from the office holding the record.
The county clerk is Shelly Blackner, reachable at 205 W. Grand Ave. in Arco, (208) 527-3021 ext. 1, or sblackner@buttecountyid.us. Calling the clerk does not guarantee the sheriff's arrest file sits there. The prosecutor may hold charging papers. A prosecution file differs from a jail booking record. Ask which office actually created and keeps the document you want.
Butte County Arrest Court Records
Butte County makes an arrest. Then prosecutors file charges, and the case lands in Idaho iCourt. That portal tracks what happens next. Think hearings, docket entries, filed charges, and the final outcome. Searches follow a Last, First name order. Choose Butte County first. Confirm the party and case number. Then read the docket from there. Unsealed warrants and no-contact orders may also surface by record number, a narrower route than any countywide wanted-person search.
Know the limits. iCourt is not a live custody roster. It shows no booking photo. An arrest can sit unfiled for a stretch. Someone released from jail may not have a public case yet. Juvenile, sealed, exempt, and unfiled matters stay off the site, while older cases can linger online long after Butte County custody ends. The official Idaho iCourt portal is the page that displays the Smart Search screen.

A search here supports case verification. It cannot tell you who sits in jail today.
The Idaho Supreme Court directory places the Butte County courthouse at 326 W. Grand Avenue, P.O. Box 171, Arco, ID 83213, with phone (208) 527-8259. Note that the courthouse address differs from the county clerk's administrative address, so confirm which office handles your errand before the drive to Arco.
Butte County Arrest Warrants
Butte County publishes no official warrant search. There is no active-warrant list and no most-wanted page. Treat iCourt's record-number lookup as a narrow tool, not a countywide warrant portal, and skip old news clips or private directories when a warrant's status matters. For real verification, call BCSO or the courthouse.
A public-records request can target one specific warrant record, though exemptions and officer-safety rules may block release. Since the county posts no online wanted roster, absence from the web proves nothing either way. Shared names cause trouble too. Confirm identifiers with the office that holds the record. Skip spreading birth dates, addresses, or family details that a warrant question never needs.
Butte County Arrest Alerts
Idaho takes part in VINE. The service lets anyone search by name or identification number and register for alerts by telephone, email, or text when data is available. It draws on jail-management entries from participating agencies. That makes it notification infrastructure, not a complete booking-photo roster for Butte County. Spell broadly when you search. Then verify a possible match with BCSO. A missing VINE result does not rule out an arrest, so keep the county's own resources in play. Guard your registration PIN. Follow the service's official steps from start to finish.
See VINELink Custody Check for the full search and registration workflow. The official Idaho VINELink search page opens before any personal information is entered.

VINE works well for custody discovery and alerts. It is still not Butte County's official arrest feed.
County, State, and Federal Custody
Butte County Jail handles detention at the county level. Prison, probation, and parole fall to the Idaho Department of Correction resident/client search instead. A sentenced person may show up in IDOC after leaving the county jail. IDOC updates its data daily. Fresh local bookings are not its strength, though. A county "release" can simply mean transfer to state supervision. That is not freedom from it. The official IDOC resident/client search displays its state-custody fields.

Reach for the state system only when prison, probation, or parole fits the person's custody stage. Federal custody is different. The BOP inmate locator covers Bureau of Prisons cases. Immigration detention runs through the ICE locator. Neither system substitutes for BCSO on a Butte County booking. A federal arresting officer may also hold someone outside the county, so identify the responsible agency before assuming every local incident leaves a county-jail record.
Correct Butte County Arrest Records
Fixing a record takes several paths. Correction, expungement, sealing, and removal from private sites all follow separate rules. Idaho State Police runs a criminal-history process. It offers a route to challenge or correct information. Idaho Code §74-113 covers review and correction of a person's records. Court relief has its own door. The Idaho Supreme Court's Clean Slate materials explain which court records can qualify. None of it guarantees erasure. A newspaper story, search result, or copied private page can survive all of it.
Start with the agency that created the record. Name the entry. Describe the claimed error. Attach the court or agency paperwork that supports your claim. Keep a certified copy of any sealing or change order. Then ask each record holder how it carries out the court's order. This is general records guidance, not legal advice.
RecentlyBooked's Idaho index lists no Butte County section. Its publisher describes a free policy for qualifying errors or outcomes. Mugshots.com offers free update routes for documented cases. Those are publisher policies, though, not Idaho legal rights. No Butte County or Idaho law guarantees removal of a booking photo from every private site. Consult a qualified Idaho attorney for sealing, expungement, or litigation. Verify a recipient before mailing sensitive documents.
Older Butte County Arrest Records
BCSO publishes no booking-specific retention period for arrest records or photographs. Idaho's statewide records schedule offers general guidance for government records. Local agencies can follow their own schedules. A schedule is not permission to destroy anything. That applies to records held for a law, litigation hold, policy, or business need. Treat it as management guidance. It promises nothing about when a booking photo survives or vanishes.
For an older arrest, gather the year, person, event, and document type. Then ask the custodian. Ask whether the record remains with BCSO or moved elsewhere. Also ask whether it was redacted or disposed of under an approved schedule. The Idaho State Archives may hold historical newspapers. An archive is not a live arrest feed. A private page still online proves nothing about what the government keeps.
Butte County Arrest News
The Butte County Sheriff's Office publishes no booking app. Nor does it run an official social account with a live roster. Idaho Sheriff Connect exists as a generic statewide application. Butte County participation is not shown. Treat the app as a discovery tool, not an official BCSO feed. A social-media incident update is never a complete arrest list.
East Idaho News and Local News 8 both cover selected regional incidents, including BCSO-linked events and reports built on court documents. News reports supply chronology and agency statements. But editors choose the stories. So the daily bookings go uncounted. The East Idaho News search changes over time and works as a search page, not a dedicated official blotter. The Local News 8 site is also regional news. Attribute claims to the report, agency, affidavit, or court document, and follow the public docket for disposition.
Unofficial Butte County Arrest Directories
Start with official sources every time. Mugshots.com does carry a real Butte County Idaho section. JailExchange and InmateAid keep county-specific directory pages too. None of them is a verified live BCSO roster. Listings turn stale, incomplete, or copied, and a name can attach to the wrong person.
Other directories skip Butte County entirely. The Busted Newspaper Idaho directory, the RecentlyBooked Idaho index, and Arrests.org Idaho navigation all lack a Butte section. Mugshots.zone lists no Idaho section either. Never invent a URL by editing a slug, and never borrow records from a county with a similar name.
Treat private sites as discovery aids, label them unofficial, and confirm every current-status claim with BCSO. Extra identifiers cut the risk of mistaken identity. Skip publishing birth dates, home addresses, phone numbers, medical details, or family information. A private name match proves neither custody nor filed charges.
Butte County Arrests by City
Butte County has three incorporated cities. The 2020 Census map frames them, and their pages keep local distinctions without pretending each city runs its own jail or feed.
- Arco Recent Arrests: the county-seat route connecting BCSO, records contacts, and the courthouse.
- Moore Recent Arrests: a small-city search with no documented municipal police publication channel.
- Butte City Recent Arrests: the county-centered route for the community also labeled “City of Butte.”
An arrest inside city limits may come from BCSO, a state agency, or another jurisdiction. Confirm who made it. Confirm where the person was booked. Population and location never settle who holds the person.
Use Butte County Arrest Records
Statistics, arrests, bookings, filed cases, and convictions are different datasets. Keep them separate. The Idaho State Police 2024 statistical report covers Butte County with aggregate totals. It names no one. No roster, booking dates, or photographs appear there. Aggregate juvenile counts never authorize publishing a child's identity or protected case details. This material is not a consumer report. For present custody, call the originating agency. For later disposition, follow the court.
